When asked if she felt like the media represented her, one 22-year-old woman answered, “I feel like I am either left out or overgeneralized.”
Though women make up 51% of the population, they are represented in only 20% of news stories.
Driven is a new-media organization that fills this gap through vignettes told from our roving newsroom. It’s journalism by women for women.
Driven focuses on four main story themes: balance, love, success and identity. Our team promises not to shy away from the hard parts of life, but we also know that there are a lot of happy stories out there waiting to be told.
We produce content in tours (just think of us as your favorite band of journos). Our Fall Tour (2015) focused on the stories of immigrant women. And our Summer 2016 Tour is happening now. It’s theme is Rooted: transitions and traditions in America’s heartland.
During tours, Hannah and Sam are on the road while Josie is based in Seattle, WA and Hrisanthi is based in Fayetteville, NC.
